Where can the toilets be positioned?

Portable toilets are intended for outdoor use so the ground the unit will occupy needs to be firm and flat, with no sloping areas. At Fortis Hire, we use 4X4 vehicles to deliver, which enable us to install the portable toilet units and trailers on grassed areas and in fields, as well as on hard standing areas. There also needs to be sufficient space and height clearance for the unit or trailer and the delivery vehicle. Our staff can advise on the size of each of our units.

What happens to the waste?

All waste is disposed of ethically for you. The waste tanks are emptied and the sumps refilled while the toilet is thoroughly cleaned and all consumable are restocked. The frequency of waste disposal will depend on the length of the hire period and our staff can advise you on this. Fortis Hire is a registered Environmental Agency waste carrier.

Do I need to provide power for the portable toilets?

All our units require a 13-amp power supply, and will operate on a regular domestic supply. Where there is no access to a mains supply, we can provide details of trusted generator supply companies on request. 

What do the toilets come with and do I need to provide anything?

All units are supplied with all necessary consumables, such as toilet paper, soap and paper towels. Our luxury portable toilet trailers are equipped with indulgent hand soap and moisturiser. All supplied consumable are eco-friendly products. Our units feature an integral water system so do not require a mains water supply.

What if there are any problems during the hire period?

Anyone hiring a portable toilet unit will have access to a 24:7 telephone support line where a team of engineers is on hand 365 days of the year, to respond to any queries and needs.

Are delivery and collection dates flexible?

We will deliver and collect units at a time that is convenient to you. Where out of hours delivery or collection is required, our staff will be happy to discuss this with you.

How much notice do I need to give to hire portable toilet units?

There are periods throughout the year when demand for portable toilet hire is greater, for example the summer months, and we can be fully booked several months in advance. To avoid disappointment, we recommend you call to check availability as early as possible.

Do I need insurance?

The hirer is responsible for any damage or loss to the units, including vandalism and theft, from delivery until collection. It is important to take out specialist insurance such as event and wedding insurance that includes toilet hire and our staff will be happy to discuss the details of this with you.
