How clean are portable toilets?

Ask people for their opinion of portable toilets and most will respond in the negative, regaling stories of dirty and foul-smelling plastic boxes! Unsurprisingly, then, many people will question just how clean portable toilets are and whether they will be sanitary enough for their event. How are portable toilets cleaned?

When a portable toilet comes back to us at the end of a hire, the holding tank is emptied and pumped dry by one of our own fleet of vacuum pump trucks. As upper tier registered waste carriers with the Environment Agency, we then dispose of all waste ethically and legally at an authorised disposal site.

Once the toilets have been emptied, they are then steam cleaned with all smells, bacteria and dirt being broken down by the extreme heat of the steam, without the need to use harsh chemicals. The units are then deodorised and all consumables are replenished prior to the next hire.

Maintaining hygiene standards during a hire

All our products will be delivered to your venue in a pristine, clean and sanitised condition. However, they may not stay like that throughout the course of the hire period but we can help with that too! Our fleet of vacuum pump tracks is able to service our portable toilet units on site, enabling the units to be emptied, sumps refilled and consumables restocked throughout the hire.  To maintain the cleanliness on the interior of our luxury units, we also offer an attendant service, to keep the toilets clean during your event and to give your guests a truly VIP experience.
