What is a portable vacuum toilet?

A portable vacuum toilet is one type of luxury portable toilet for hire for public events and other occasions. An eco-friendly alternative to the traditional flushing toilet, vacuum toilets have grown in popularity with environmentally-conscious event organisers. 

The difference between a vacuum toilet and a flushing toilet

The difference lies in how the waste from each toilet is removed. A flushing portable toilet has a holding tank and a water tank. Water is used to flush the waste into the holding tank where chemicals break it down. When full, the holding tank must be emptied and the waste removed to an approved site. Toilets are out of commission whilst being emptied.

By contrast, a portable vacuum toilet uses vacuum technology to remove the waste to a holding tank. The holding tank will need to be emptied but the toilets do not have to come out of service while this is done.
